Outside
Presence Inn The
officer shone a light over his clothing. “Mr. Torres?
What is that on your clothes?” Bo
Torres looked down to his beige sweatshirt. He then
gasped. “Dad?”
Wyle Torres asked, backing away from his father. On
the fabric were streaks of crimson. All the men there
could easily tell what the substance was, as there was
no mistaking it. It was blood. “I
– I have no idea,” Bo stuttered nervously. “It
can’t be Vivian’s! I never touched her.” The
officer looked at him like he was lying, and Wyle stood
quiet (as always) and kept a look of shock on his face. “You
don’t believe me, do you?” Bo told the officers. “Any
you?” he said, turning to Wyle. “You know I didn’t
do this.” “Are
you bleeding sir?” the officer questioned. “Maybe
that is it.” Bo
patted himself down. “No. How…?” The
officer took a set of handcuffs and came around Bo. She
cuffed the man’s wrists in front of his son, and read
him his rights. “What
are you doing?” Wyle interrupted. The
officer continued. “You have the right to remain
silent…” “What?”
Bo cried, trying to free himself. “You can’t do
this. You can’t! You’ll regret it. I’ll make you
regret it…”
Tom Residence Patrick
Donavon
and Kassie
Tom both moved to where the note had been placed
beside the phone. It was the usual spot Jake and Kassie
used to leave notes. Kassie lifted the paper flap, and
gently pulled out the slim while piece of paper. She
took a second to read the message. “Well?”
Patrick questioned. Kassie
burst into tears. “What
is it?” Patrick insisted. “It’s
Jake,” she sobbed. “He left. He just got up and
left. He said that we were never meant for each other.” Patrick
came up beside Kassie and put his arm on her back. “I
remember you talk about him on our flights to and from
Switzerland. He seemed nice.” Kassie
sobbed some more. “Don’t
cry over him,” Patrick said, trying to keep her from
crying. “I’m sure you’ll find someone who does
love you. For real.” “How
could this happen?” Kassie questioned, grabbing a
Kleenex from the kitchen counter. “There were no
signs.” “All
I know is that you’re too pretty and intelligent to be
single for long.” Patrick moved around behind Kassie.
“And Presence is a charming town. There are plenty of
people here that would be perfect for you.” Kassie
spun around and looked at Patrick in the eyes. “Yes?”
he asked. Kassie
pulled herself into him and gave him a hug. San Francisco: Darla Tom Residence “You all packed?” Darla Tom called out to Robert Carlyle. “We're moving in with Kassie till Interpol catches the men who killed Drew.” Robert came into Darla's room. “I was done hours ago. It's you women who take so long!” Darla looked insulted. “It's because we always need to look so good for you men. That's how us women are.” “I think that you're beautiful just the way you are.” Robert flashed a smile, and Darla could see right through him. "Yeah, yeah, yeah... but seriously. We have to keep hush-hush about my pregnancy when we're there. I need to find the perfect time to tell Kassie." Robert looked at her belly. "Well, it looks like you're in the third trimester. Good luck." Darla turned red. "I'll manage." Evans Residence Gillian
Evans entered her home later than usual. She was shocked
that Vivian, Iris’s mother, had been murdered. Did
Iris know? “Gilly,
is that you?” Addy Evans called out from the kitchen.
“Can you come here?” Gillian
placed her workbag by the door and made her way across
the living room to the kitchen. When she entered, it
looked like a bomb has hit it. A bomb filled with papers
and folders. “What
is all this?” Gillian demanded. “Work,”
Addy responded. “With Natural Exposure’s new ad
campaign almost underway, I have picked up the work
load. Two of our best employees are on leave. Your best
friend, Iris, being one of them. And of course Adam, the
stabber.” Addy turned around. “I am also expecting
several models tomorrow. The UPS guy will be bringing
them by, so place them on this table.” She
immediately went back to work. “I’m
sorry you have all this work, but don’t blame it on
Iris. She has had it rough.” Gillian moved over to the
table where her mom sat. “And things have gotten
worse.” “How
so?” Addy asked, not looking up from the papers. “Her
mother, Vivian, was killed this evening,” Gillian
burst out. Addy
turned around. “Oh, my God. Were was this?” “Presence
Inn,” Gillian replied. “That's
only a couple streets down!” Addy exclaimed. “Have
the found the killer?” “No,
but I have a feeling about who it is…” Torres Residence Iris
Torres was about to speak up and notify
Giovanni Pike of
the intruder. As Iris’s mouth opened, Adam
King lunged
for Iris. He shot off the ground, and tackled Iris to
the kitchen door. “Say
anything,” Adam sneered, “and I’ll kill you.” “Are
you alright?” Giovanni called down from the stairs. Iris
looked at Adam, and paused to think. “I’m fine,”
she finally spewed. “I just slipped.” She realized
he could still come to her. “It is getting late,”
Iris continued, worried about what Adam would do to her
if she revealed him. “You’d better get home.” A
pause. “Sure. See you tomorrow maybe?” Giovanni
called out, walking down the stairs. “Maybe!”
Iris spoke, and waited for the door to open and for him
to leave. As soon as the door closed, Iris got up. “You
are crazy!” Iris told Adam bluntly. “You stabbed me,
and now you’re trying to kill my family! You’re a
sick monster!” She then asked, “Why?” Adam
got up. “I didn’t do it. I told you: I went to the
Inn to see if you were visiting your mother since I was
closer to it. I saw her dead, so I ran here.” Iris
shook her head. “You rich bastard! Has all that power
and money erased all the morals that you had?” Adam
got angry. This
moment made Iris flashback to when she was first
attacked: As
Iris enters the room and moves to her bed, we see a
shadow move in the halls. She continues to argue with
Gillian on he same point. The figure is masked in
darkness since Iris hadn’t turned on the lights. The
stranger wrapped his arm around Iris’ throat and
pulled him into her. Iris choked and dropped the phone. “Iris?”
Gillian, who Iris was talking to on the phone, asked.
“Is everything all right?” Iris
was struggling with the stranger. Then the stranger
reached around with his other hand. He was wearing
black, torn leather gloves. And in them was a knife. “No!”
Iris screamed. The knife swung around and plunged into
her side. A
struggle ensued. Iris screamed. Then she heard what
sounded like stabbing… Iris, after remembering this, was filled with anger. “That won’t happen to me again!” Iris screamed, surprising even Adam. “I’m going to do what I should have done to you!” Iris backed up into the living room, and picked up a wooden chair near the piano. She took the light, but surprisingly hard, chair in her hands. “Don’t do anything crazy…” Adam insisted. Iris approached Adam. “You mean like this?” she replied, swing the chair at Adam. Adam jumped away and turned around to get into the kitchen. Iris got a firm grip on the chair and swung it a second time. This time it his Adam on him back and he fell to the floor like a stone. And his head his the ground with a sickening thump. He didn’t move. Iris breathed deeply, and turned away from the body. Iris felt a pang of pain in her side where she had been stabbed. It was still tender. Iris realized she hadn’t shut off the television set. She went turn it off, but was intrigued by a news story. “This just in!” came a male news announcer. “We reported earlier that Vivian Torres was murdered at Presence Inn this evening, but the case has been updated. We bring you live coverage with Brianna Huber.” Iris recognized the scene of the crime. She had been there many times, and now it would forever give her a macabre feeling. “The police are bringing a man into custody,” Brianna, a black reported, spoke excitedly. “We haven’t been given a name yet, but he was found lurking. And… a yes there is blood on his shirt.” The camera followed a man to a police cruiser. “Oh, my God!” Iris exclaimed, recognizing the man immediately. “Dad?” Iris looked over to Adam body. She began to panic. “My father did it… I killed the wrong man! I’m a killer!” Consuelos Residence Skye
Lore
crept up to a yawning
Mateo Consuelos. He looked
tired. “Mateo,”
Skye began, “Why don’t you go to bed. It’s been a
long day.” Mateo
turned to his houseguest. “You read my mind.” He
paused. “Wait, you can already do that, can’t
you?” Skye
smiled. “If you mean the stuff I’ve said about Dean,
I don’t read his mind. They just come to me.” “Whatever,”
Mateo muttered. Skye
walked with him to his bedroom. “I hope you have a
good night’s sleep. I think a lot is going to happen
tomorrow.” Skye closed the door. “I know it
will…” She
closed her eyes and took a deep breath. When she opened
them, he eyes were glowing red. “That it’ is you
live through the night.” Skye
smiled, and after she blinked the red had disappeared.
She made her way to the living room where Dean Consuelos
was pondering. “Your
brother’s in bed,” Skye announced. “Now we can
talk.” Dean
shook his head. “I have no idea what to do. You’ve
told me to ‘Beware Mateo.’ I know he has to
disappear. But how?” “You’ll
know soon enough…” Skye said softly. She sat down
beside him and touched his shoulders. Skye closed her
eyes and breathed deeply. “What
are you –” Dean was interrupted as a shock went
through his body. He closed his eyes. Skye
removed her hands. “Do you know what to do, now?”
Dean
opened his eyes. They glowed red, as if a life force was
now in control of his mind and actions. “Yes. Yes I
do.” He got up, unblinking. “I have to kill Mateo.
And I have to do it tonight!”
